Meorial Day Weekend 2012

Went up to one of my favorite place to trail ride, and meet up with some of my friends. I rode my bike up their planing on just staying for the day but I ended up staying 3 days. Had a good time slept in a hammock ever night it was great. meet some new friends and got to see some cool things as well. Did have some breakage though. My friend Jon broke pretty bad on his way back from Carburetor Hill. He lost his breaks and was being pulled out, and in stead of running in to the rear end of the jeep he went up and over a ditch and I think hit a tree to. He broke a lot of stuff and could not get him back to camp. Came back the next morning to get is rig, and as he was trying to fix his diff ( C.clip broke and the rear driver side axle came out it was pretty cool but bad at the same time ) A copper head, had made its way up above the transfer case because it was warm. took a bit to get it out but it was a big one. After that we played around a little more then packed up and came home.

Working At Vail Resorts

Got out of College in December of 2011. Gave my two weeks and starred to pack. Left for Keystone Co. January 4, 2012. While I was out their I had a blast. got to do a lot of cool things as well. It is so different out their then it is here. A mountain hear in Kentucky is pretty wimpy to the foot hills of the Rocky Mountains, and not even close to the actual Mountains. You learn to snow board fast or ski. I never did learn to ski though I kept saying I was going to try it but never did. Every thing around here is any wear from 25 sec - 2 minute runs, in Keystone its more like 3 minute to 12 minute runs. Also got to do a bit of trail ridding wile I was out their as well down in Buena vista with my roommate. We Also went up to Grays Peak in the Arapaho National Forest. On the way their we took loveland pass and seen a ton of cool stuff as well. But when we got to the trail road leading to the trail head we past a couple walking down and they had got their jeep stuck a ways up the road in some deep snow. I offered to pull them out but they said they had all ready called someone. So I took my Tacoma up half way and pulled over. It was a great hike. Peak at 14,268 ft what my GPS said. On the way back the snow had turned to ice and I slid in to a ditch, snow came up over the front lights almost. Could not even open my door a inch it was so deep. So after a hour and half we were on our our way again. The kicker was we dug or self's out with a stick and a ice scraper it was fun though.meet and made a bunch of new friends form all over the world as well. My contract ended in April, but cant wait till this coming season. Oh and wile I was their I worked as a lift operator that was a ton of fun as well.
